Nvidia Shield error on Transcoding

Have a Synology NAS and a Shield for Plex Media Server. Idea was to have a setup which is as easy as possible for the living room, using the Samsung TV app as client (no additional boxes and remote controls in the living room).

Now, almost everything works fine, but when I try to play a video which needs transcoding, I get an error and file just fails to play. Direct play seems to work…

Any ideas?

I’m having the same issue. Plex on my Roku worked beautifully, as does the built-in Plex app on my Smart TV, yet the nVidia Shield version fails on transcoding, but only on certain files.

I’m disappointed that I spent this much for a device, only to not have the Plex app work.

Anyone else have the issue or a solution?
