Nvidia Shield not creating poster thumbnail for Home Videos

I moved my PMS content from Windows to Nvidia Shield (Movies, TV Shows, Music, Photos and Home Videos). Everything is working so far except my Home Videos do not have Poster thumbnails like my Windows PMS has.

The Nvidia Shield is the 2017 16GB version with internal storage expanded with a 128GB SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.0 Flash Drive and a removable My Book 8TB USB 3.0 Removable Drive for content.

I also noticed that I have this same issue on my Plex Cloud service also.

Here’s the Plex Media Scanner Analysis.log

Thanks for looking into this for me.

if you edit one of them are they available under posters to be selected?

BigWheel, thanks for looking into this for me. The Poster window is empty under Edit.

Is that path hidden to us? From my PC I go to \\Shield\Internal and do not see this path.

Thanks,

yeah it is not an accessible directory unfortunately.

you do seem to have lots of errors with it downloading the h264 codec. what version of server are you running? have you checked for updates in Google Play?

Big Wheel, you nailed it. I was running 1.4.3.3433. I was relying on the Google Play Store to update the app. From the Shield I went to Google Play Store and could not locate Plex Media Server. I went to Google Play on the PC and found Plex Media Server and saw it to be 1.5.5.3634 and clicked the Installed button and it updated the Shield.

Poster Thumbnails are now creating. So my problem was the server was not auto updating like all other Google Play apps. I’ll keep an eye on that.

Thanks,
-Greg
