Plex Media Server 1.21.1.3830 (on Windows)
Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 w/latest updates
Plex for Android TV 8.11.0.22186 (16th Dec 2020)
Hello Plexians,
I have an issue with my Nvidia Shield Pro (2019) and audio playlists.
I have setup a couple of audio playlists with 12 and 22 hours of Christmas music.
When playing an audio playlist on shuffle, when a song is finished one of three things happens:
a) the next song will play. The most I am getting is about 7 songs in a row, but mainly only 1.
b) The Plex client-for-Android will reload. In my case, back to the login screen for multi-user.
c) The Nvidia Shield Pro goes into a sleep mode. A single click on the remote will bring Plex back to the login screen.
In scenarios b) and c), I have to restart the playlist again.
I have updated Windows 10 (from 2004 to 20H2 edition), rebooted the server, rebooted the router, rebooted the Nvidia Shield Pro device, checked for updates on the Nvidia device (I have the latest), checked the version of the Plex app on the Nvidia device. I have tried different playlists and different users, all on the local LAN, all with the same results.
When I have tried casting the playlist from the Plex Web client (from a Chrome browser) to the Shield device, I get a “Sorry! Something went wrong”, which is not a very helpful message at all.
When I try playing the playlist on shuffle from the local Plex Web client or local Plex Media Player WITHOUT involving casting or the Nvidia device, it all works just fine.
All a bit of a pain in the behind, especially when you have family around and you just want the thing to work.
Any advice or any one else having the same (or similar issues)?
