With the most recent Nvidia Shield server update, version 1.4 1.0.9018, it is now impossible to import/see TV shows in Plex that are stored on any hard drive. The Scanner is now missing and the Agent is now missing all of its options, except two that are useless. Anyone else saying this.
If you where using legacy agents, that was based on Python, then support for those has been removed.

Based on the type of your library, the scanner has been pre-selected
You have the option of two agents, and if this is a TV-Show library, you should select Plex Series
No it’s missing the SCANNER and the other AGENT options. I have a backup server on my laptop and the SCANNER is there and other Agent options as seen below.
I’m looking for someone who has an NVIDIA to duplicate the problem. Unfortunately, they have no technical support nor way to notify them of a bug. This is a software oversight. I’ve used Plex for many many years.

So how on earth are we supposed to watch TV shows Stored on our hard drivesthrough Plex then?
Additionally, this has not affected other servers only Nvidia shield. Why is that?
The article I linked explains that they are doing a slow roll out of this change starting with the Shield.
I’ve been using the new Series scanner/agent for my libraries for awhile and have been pretty buzzed about the changes. It’s faster than the old ones and with the ability to add a Source ID to the series folder it has removed my need to ever see the dreaded Fix Match screen.
Check out the Support Documents for information about the agents & scanners. I believe they lead you through upgrading your libraries to use the new agents & scanners.

If you’re referring to the 2018 link it states this:
“While support for browsable plugins is being discontinued, nothing is happening to scanners and metadata agents with this announcement.”
So not sure where the confusion rests. From what you’re stating, there will be another update? I don’t see anything in the link that shows how to fix my issue.

The link says this: “once Plex Media Server on these devices is updated to version 1.41.0, libraries using these agents will no longer be able to scan in new content but you will still be able to upgrade them”
But nothing Is mentioned on how to scan in TV shows. This is ridiculous. It keeps saying visit the manage library area but when you go there, you can’t do anything
