Odd Plexamp Radio Behavior

I’m experiencing some really odd behavior when playing various Radios in Plexamp. Library radio only yields a couple tracks from 2 albums. Same with Time Travel Radio, it plays the same albums. Random Album works. None of the Genre Radios work (Couldn’t start playback), except for one, which plays the same few tracks from Library Radio. Similarly only Decade radio will play from the decades of the two Library Radio albums. Artist/Album Mix Builder and Sonic Adventure work. Hitting the Radio button on any album returns tracks from that album first (maybe by design). Most Artist Radios don’t work, unless they’re related the the 2 Library radio albums.

This happens on both macOS and iOS. There’s no issues searching and selecting tracks.

Sounds like maybe you disabled or don’t have Popularity data enabled for the library, and/or it needs a refresh?

Popular Tracks is selected. And I did a Refresh All Metadata when I discovered the problem and started looking for solutions.

I’d double check you actually have popularity data on tracks by sorting in the library tab by popularity.

You’re correct. The only songs that show popularity data are the ones that will play in those Radio stations. That’s only 14 tracks out of 10,000. How do I rebuild that data?

Refreshing metadata should do it. If you’re on the old music library you might need to upgrade.

Bingo. I could’ve sworn I was on the new Scanner. I remember using it when it was released. I think what happened was, in order to protect my metadata, I changed the Agent to Personal Media Artists, which I guess changes the scanner (can the old scanners be marked as Legacy?).

I think I was trying to be extra protective with my metadata. But I’m only really specific about the genre tag, as most jazz/classical music gets lumped into those basic categories. I appreciate there being an extra knob for that. I started a second music library with the new scanner to make sure there wasn’t any other unexpected behavior (mostly musicbrainz metadata related).
