The title pretty much says it. For example, I select Pop Radio and only three albums populate in the playlist. Granted, I have around 500 albums in my library, and certainly more than just these three are tagged as Pop.
See the attached screenshot. This was from a few days ago on my Android phone. Today, I start up Plexamp on my Windows 10 machine, select Pop Radio and again, same 3 or 4 albums.
I downloaded and installed the 1.23.0.4438 beta. Unfortunately, I’m still experiencing the same issue. I go to Pop Radio and the same albums are populating the playlist. I also tried clearing the cache and the storage hoping this would refresh Plexamp somehow, but no luck.
Which server platform?
Is this an older library or is it created fresh?
Did you disable fetching of “popularity” data in the properties of the library?
Does your server keep running over night or do you shut it down when not in use?
When was the last time that you Refreshed Metadata of your music?
I think refreshing the metadata after updating to 1.23 was the key, as the Pop Radio is now populating a variety of songs.
While I was experiencing this issue a few days ago, I was running PMS 1.22.3.4392-d7c624def and had refreshed metadata several times with no luck. This morning, I updated to the beta of 1.23 and was still experiencing the same issue (I did not refresh the metadata when I updated). But after reading your reply, I refreshed the metadata of the library, and that seemed to do the trick.
Thank you for your assistance!
But to answer the other questions:
I am running my Plex server on a Synology DS416play, running the latest version of DSM 6.
My Plex Music library is about a week old.
“Popular Tracks” was indeed checked. The only item I changed from the default settings in the Advanced tab was Album Art - which I selected local files only as I curated HQ album art myself.
Ok, I have enabled my server to receive betas.
Now I see that there is a problem about the popular songs that it extracts from lastfm incorrectly. [ Version1.23.0.4482]
I personally wasn’t aware that Plex used Last FM to grab the popular tracks info. I headed over to my Plex server and checked several artist pages (and what is listed as their popular tracks) versus what is listed on Last FM and they are definitely mismatched.
