Off topic, but need advice - netflix on your OpenPHT device?

So I’m frustrated with the Xbox One Plex app, it’s slow in menus, the remote control won’t work sometimes, etc. I have installed OpenPHT on a windows 10 laptop and it FLIES. The thing is fast and with a change of skin, pretty. I’d be using it tomorrow, if Plex was the only thing my family used to watch TV. But we are a heavy Netflix family too.

The Netflix app for Windows is click centric, I can’t find a way to utilize the keyboard to control it (I would be using an IR remote, usbuirt and event ghost to provide remote control capabilities.)

How are you guys/gals watching Netflix on the same device you are using for the OpenPHT client AND providing a way to control it via IR remote? Bonus points - a similar solution for Amazon Prime Video.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I never found a solution. Use an Odroid C2 for Plex, and Chromecast/Roku for everything else.

I’ve got this up and running on my win 10 HTPC

It does work but is quirky and can get lost sometimes. When it does I just kill it and start over. It might not meet the WAF but it’s worth a try.

Thanks bowlingbeeg. I’ll give it a try. It’s a shame that the major streaming video providers can’t provide something as simple as keyboard shortcuts into their windows apps.

Once I setup a Windows 10 box with OpenPHT and used AutoHotKey to switch between applications. I used a WiFi keyboard Airmouse, so a remote control of mouse centric apps wasn’t a problem.

It maybe possible to dual boot the C2 someday. Android on the eMMC and OpenPHT on the SD card.

Thanks guys for your input. It doesn’t look like there is anything on Windows that can approach the WAF that a Roku or AppleTV can provide for Netflix and Amazon. Maybe I’ll buy a Roku 3 for downstairs and call it a day.
