Offer a choice - classic Plex or the new Plex interface

I remember when Vista came out and my customers that “upgraded” without asking hated the $#!+ out of the new vista. I had two choices - upgrade them to XP which made them angry because they paid for something they hated and then didn’t use or put ClassicShell on - it made Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 start menu and many other things just like Windows XP. So for about a decade most of my customers preferred the old interface over the new one- with win 11 most of my customers were happy with the new menu as Microsoft finally got it right after a decade of forcing a bad menu on people.

Why not offer people a choice? I’d be fine if Plex said - well we aren’t going to do any more work on the old Plex interface - hey at least I get something usable. The new one is about as useful as using a stick of butter as a catcher’s mitt. I’m sure butter has uses but it isn’t a good choice for catching baseballs.

I just want to be clear - the post wasn’t meant as a put down - you tried something and it didn’t turn out well. Trying new things is good - sometimes it improves something such as a recipe and sometimes it doesn’t. I’ve made some HUGE mistakes in my life time - this is how we learn and grow. I think you got enough feedback to realize the new interface isn’t loved by everyone and that’s OK - this is how we learn from our mistakes - unless like some fanatics we just trench ourself in and ignore what others are saying and insist we know better than everyone else.

This is straightforward, just restore the previous interface. The new one is horrible.
