The first four episodes of The Office Season 4 were double-epsidoes. The rips I have combine each double-episode into a single file (i.e., The Office - S04E01-E02). I made sure they were titled appropriately for combined episodes per https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/ but it doesn’t seem to do anything.
How can I get Plex to recognize these four double-episode files as two episodes apiece? The entire season’s episode listings are screwed up due to this.
You’ll need to renumber the episodes like Fun Run is S04E01, Dunder Mifflin Infinity S04E02, Launch Party is S04E03, Money is S04E04, Local Ad is S04E5, etc.
Then change the episode ordering agent for The Office:
Edit->Advanced->Episode ordering->The Movie Database (Aired)
Here’s how its showing up in Plex. Notice how it thinks each of the two-part episodes are a single episode and that ‘Dunder Mifflin Infinity’ is Eps 2 (though in reality it is Eps 3 and 4).
Thanks @happytaz - I’d prefer to avoid needing to renumber the episodes if possible. Wikipedia and all sources identify that the season was 19 episodes long, not 14 so I’d prefer to keep that if possible.
I did take part of your suggestion though, and changed The Office episode ordering to TVDB (Aired) and it partially fixed it. Though oddly for each double-parter, it swaps the summaries of the episodes (it says Fun Run (2) is the first part as you can see here).
Michael comes to believe the office might be cursed in the wake of a freak accident. After scrutinizing each of his staffers’ religious beliefs, he organizes a charity 5K “fun run.”
Don’t pull your hair out trying to fix it. Maybe @BigWheel has an idea of what needs to be done
Just FYI for future reference I’d stay away from Wiki for naming any shows. They can differ from both the TVDB and TMDB and those are the only sources Plex pulls from
looks like everything has be considered. at the end of the day can only choose the available orders. and manually edit as one sees fit. I personally would use TVDB aired order and just edit the second part episode summary to be whatever.
