Having just spent way too long creating a “Halloween” collection, I’m reminded of how much adding to collections or building up a collection from scratch, especially when you have a good number of films you want to include, can be a serious pain. By my count, it is a minimum of seven clicks, and multiple text-entries. (Click on search bar, type item name, click to item, click edit, click Tags, click Collections, type collection name, click desired collection from list, click save)
I’d like to be able to add movies to collections in a few less steps. Most intuitive way would probably be when you are on a collection’s page there is a specific search input labeled “Add content” or something. It works the same as the normal search bar, but options come up, you click them, and they are added to the collection. Less intuitive perhaps, but at least similar in function, just have “Add to Collection” be an option in the hamburger menu in the main search bar when you are on a collection’s page.
There are other ways to implement something like this, certainly, but what it comes down to is that I’d like to be able to add multiple items without leaving the Collection’s page.
P.S. This exact same suggestion also applies to Playlists, as it is functionality that would be just as welcome there.
