I have one library, and only one, that just flat-out refuses to show “Recently Added.” On the included web client and on iOS/tvOS/Android the library shows Recently Released, Start Watching, Rediscover, Recently Watched but just will not show Recently Added.
Recently added is definitely checked in the Libraries tab of settings for this library.
Resetting customisation and rechecking/unchecking/reodering the options again did not help.
It’s the case across all clients.
There was stuff added recently, within the last few days.
If I make a new library and point it at the same folder the same issue occurs.
The folder for this library is on the same disk as the folders for other libraries which don’t have this problem.
The library is not pinned and is set to not show on Home or Friends Home, but other libraries with the same settings DO have Recently Added. I’m going to the library specifically, to the Recommended tab and looking there. Recently Added is there for all my other libraries.
I’m at a loss as to wtf is going on here and how to fix it. Any suggestions? Thanks!
I think Plex might be the only product I can remember paying actual money for where there’s just 0 support. And no, a forum where it relies on other users to solve issues is not support.
Not the home page, the library page. This library does not get shown on the home page. I just tried removing all categories other than Recently Added and the result is the only thing left on the page is Continue Watching. Adding Recently Released, Rediscover etc. back returns them but still no Recently Added.
This is very clearly a bug of some kind. I’d submit a bug report but apparently these forums are where bugs are reported.
Are you sure the Recently Added section isn’t limited to the home screen? I’m at work, so I can’t test anything on my server. Try adding the library to the home page and see what happens.
As part of Plex Media Server library management, server admins can manage which recommendation rows will show up on their player app home screens when the source is pinned in the sidebar, as well as the Recommended tab for each individual library. They can also control the home screen rows when a shared user has the library pinned in the sidebar.
The only exception to this is the Continue Watching rows which will always be shown on home screen (with content from pinned sources) and individual library recommended tabs.
Adding it to the home screen does NOT make recently added appear on the library screen.
I have other libraries that have the exact same settings (not on home screen, not pinned, the same checkboxes checked) and are not on the Home screen and they DO have Recently Added as expected.
This has nothing to do with the Home screen at all.
