"Recently Added" doesn't show up for one library

One of my TV libraries stubbornly refuses to show “Recently added” in the Recommended tab.

I’m not really sure what else to say, that’s the gist of it. It fails to show in all clients, for all users. It is checked in the “Libraries” settings under the “Library Recommended” column. Before the introduction of the “Libraries” settings it was there, but at some point it just vanished.

All other selected categories show up on the Recommended tab.

The library is pinned.

Perhaps of note is that the library is set to “Exclude from home screen” but setting it to “Include in home screen” does not make the “Recently added” appear in the Recommended tab.

“Recently added” shows up in all my other libraries for TV and movies.

Additionally, I have one custom collection that I include in the library’s Recommended tab. It behaves oddly. If I put it at the top of the list in the “Libraries” settings page, it shows up above “Continue Watching.” If I move it down one level, it show up below whatever that now top item is, both below “Continue Watching.” This effectively makes it impossible for me to have it as the top line BELOW “Continue Watching.”

Removing this custom collection does not make “Recently added” appear again.

Any idea how I can get “Recently added” back in this library? It’s persisted across multiple server versions now and is missing on every client. I’m loathe to remove and re-add the library due to metadata changes I’ve made to items in it, but will do so if that will definitely fix the problem.

Edit: I just made a new library with the same media folders to see what happens and… no “Recently added.” Episodes of multiple shows were definitely added within the last couple of days. I’ll try changing the settings for this new library as I created it with the same settings and perhaps one of them in the cause.

The recently added issue is known with new tv libraries. I’ve been trying to figure out which server version it regressed in.

If it helps, this was NOT a new library. It’s been a library on my server for years. It’s my only TV library affected.

One last thing - this is an old library but it is the only one I exclude from the home screen at the library level (i.e. via library>edit). I did experiment with adding it back to home for me and toggling it off for my shared users via the “Libraries” settings, but couldn’t get that to work (it showed up on their Home screens whatever settings I used) so ended up setting it back to “Exclude from home…” This may well have been when “Recently added” vanished. It’s the only thing that makes this library different from my other TV libraries.
