My partner and I have just set up a NAS and are about to transfer across our respective music collections. We wish to be able to keep our music separate, but be able to access each other’s music.
For our own music, we want to be able to add ratings and create playlists.
At the moment I have set up a single music Library with my own music only. I have invited him to share my Library.
We do not have and do not intend to purchase a Plex Pass.
We are looking for recommendations on how to proceed please:
Two discrete folders and two discrete Libraries, which we share with each other. (Think this is my preference if it works)
One folder, one Library, two Collections? I can see that these are a way of filtering, but can’t see how to create them.
Questions…
Can a playlist include tracks from more than one Library?
Is the fact that to date I have ‘managed’ the PMS relevant? Can either of us log on and manage it?

There is only one server administrator for a server. So you can create a separate library for your partner, but ‘management’ has to be done with your Plex credentials.

Not possible (at least not practically usable).

I think I will go down the two libraries approach and see what happens. He can log on as me to manage the PMS and as himself to play/cast/listen.
I am pretty sure I will be the only using playlists, ratings etc. in any case,
