Hi there,
I finally decided to get a Plex Pass. Before doing so, I am trying to understand if I can do a couple of things. Please bear with me if I don’t use the correct terms
So, basically, I will be hosting everything in a Ugreen DH4300 Plus, and I would like to know if there’s a way to have “two independent Music libraries” in my account. Meaning, I would like to have my PlexAmp music collection, and my wife her own music collection.
Say we are away from home. Is there a way to set Plex so that I open PlexAmp in my phone and see my collection, while she sees her collection in her phone?
I hope I’m making sense. Thank you so much for your help!
I am pretty sure you can multipole Music libraries. I myself have multiple TV & Movies libraries
I don’t use plexamp much. I’m thinking it might act like plex… pin your music library on your phone, have her pin hers on her phone.
It’s not so easy switching libraries in plexamp, you pick a library and it stays there until you change it. So your wife can change to her library of choice and just leave it that way. Or since she has hey own account you can just share the 1 library with her, then she wouldn’t need to worry about which library to pick since there will only be 1.
You don’t need a Plex Pass for this so go ahead and test away.
If you want to only see artists A, B, and C… and your wife wants to only see artists X, Y, and Z… I think it would be best to have your music in one folder and your wife’s in another.
That way you can have Music Library A point to folder 1, and Music Library B point to folder 2. Then in Plex Amp you would only load the library you want to listen to.
Personally I have all of my music in one folder and my wife and I use star ratings to make large (1,000+ song) playlists. Then we just shuffle said playlist. But to each their own.
It’s very easy.
On the Home page of Plexamp, look in the upper, left corner of the screen.
You’ll see the name of the currently selected audio library.
Tap on it.
Hi everyone!
Thanks so much for all the tips. I will check them all later today
Really appreciate the input!
