One-time in app purchase

I purchased a ‘one time in app purchase’. I assumed that this would apply to all devices where this app is used. It appears that it only works on the device from which the purchase was made. Is this meant to be the case? Or is a ‘one time’ purchase required for every device? If so this is hardly ‘one-time’?

The one-time puchase applies to all devices which are signed into the same app store account.

Note: Purchasing an activation in one app store does not grant an activation when using other app stores. e.g. a purchase in Google Play doesn’t transfer to the Amazon Appstore or iTunes.

The app was purchased in the Apple App Store and is only used on Apple devices. However it only works on the Apple device from which it was purchased. On all other devices it requires a new activation. How can this be corrected?

You need to use the same Apple ID on all these devices. The purchase is bound to the Apple ID which made the puchase originally in the Apple Store.
