Currently I have two tuners connected to my Plex Media server on my QNAP NAS, one HDHomeRun and the other a Clearstream WiFi tuner. I have a HDTV antenna on a rotor and live very near to the Canada/US boarder. One direction gives me one set of channels (mostly US) and another direction I receive some Canadian channels. These two different channel lineups require two different program guides.
The problem is that the PLEX software only allows you to choose one program guide for multiple tuners which is a pain. I am attempting to maximize the amount of channels in my list and due to this limitation, allot of channels are omitted from the list because they are not supported by the one EPG that is chosen from the first tuner setup.
Anyone found a way to get around this or is PLEX planning any upgrade or changes to the SW to address this issue??
Two choices as others on the forum that live close to the border or to two different cities. 1) pick a zip code closer to the middle that may allow you access to channels from both locations. 2) use a XMLTV file instead of Gracenote to configure the DVR.
I am attempting the XMLTV option with Schedules Direct to create my own custom channel line up. I created an account with them.
I need help with this and was wondering if anyone on here has any experience with getting PLEX Live TV service to interact or connect with this service for TV listings.
I created a channel lineup however the SD service does not seem to create any XML file nor does it supply any URL information to direct PLEX to fetch the data from.
Instructions from the PLEX support page link supplied above:
“Select your language and then enter the filepath or URL for your XMLTV guide and give the guide a Name. Then Continue on.”
