Being a lifetime plex pass member I finally decided to try watching TV via plex.

I went to Best Buy and bought a HDHomeRun Connect Duo connected to my network. I see the HDHomeRun with no issues. Performed a firmware update just in case. Did a scan and it found a few channels.

I opened my plex went to settings did the whole set up no issues. Plex found the HDHomeRun box download the guide perfect.

Now this where I have issues. When I’m in program guide no matter where I click in the “On right now” or “Starting soon” section I only get the option to record never watch. (Using Chrome) Yes, I have scored through Plex how to and nothing..

My Plex iPhone app does not display the “program guide”. I am logged in as the same user in the server and client and I am also connected to the same Wifi network.

I am running plex app on my phone v4.22.

I am running plex server Version 1.4.2.3400

Plex Server is definitely not current at 1.4.2, as the current release is 1.11.0.4633. What hardware is running your Plex Server?

Download Plex Server from this website and install it manually. Your server software is not up to date.

Ok Sir. I guess you can’t rely on plex downloading the latest server version :frowning:

Watching live TV over chrome cast not supported yet :frowning:

There was an automatic update problem with v1.4.2. From the 1.4.3 release notes:

Plex Media Server 1.4.3 is now available for everyone.
NEW:
(Web) Updated Plex Web to 3.0.1.
FIXES:
(macOS) Automatic updates from 1.4.2 were failing. (#6435)
