I have been battling with my Qnap 871… I got latest PMS (Plex Pass) and i have tried OpentPHT, PHT and PHP and all of them show track correct (etc. aac5.1, aac7.1, dd5.1) but output thru HDMI is only stereo.
I have tried all possible audiooutput (pulseaudio, Directoutput, fixe 44.1, etc…) but nothing seems to help. I also thought that its reveiver problem so I bought Denon X4200W but same problem…
Welll I did more testing and it seems that I had to shutdown and restart after changing audio settings in Open PHT… PHP sucs because it does not have any passthru options, so it always outputs stereo (running in HDstation chrome).
So I got DD5.1 now, but aac and flac tracks are ALL distorted and metallic or noise in sound… why?
Well this talking to myself continues…
I got it to work by changing and restarting OpenPHT.
I used passthru and 7.1 speakers. only checked DTS-HD and Dolby-HD, but left DTS and regular DD unchecked!
Still if anyone knows how to output 5.1 from HD Filestation chrome/youtube… ? ITs always 2.0 (because its html5)… In windows i would know how to put start command after chrome.exe --""… But Qnap?

Open Pht mixes channels backwards -left>right… center to sub… ! Pht 1.4.1 works.
