Hi, I wanted to inquire as to whether anyone has encountered my issue with ONN 4K streaming boxes from Walmart and Plex.

I have had to revert back twice to 1.40.5.8921 from the most recent version of Plex Server 1.41.1.9057 and the version before that. My server is on Windows 11 and I have an Nvidia Shield Pro and two of the ONN boxes.

With the 1.40.5.8921 version of PMS, everything plays fine. With the two most recent updates to PMS the ONN boxes hang and the circle spins and spins when playing certain movies, specifically The Dark Knight and Batman Begins. The picture never appears and eventually I get an error message.

When I fall back to the 1.40.5.8921 version everything is back to normal and plays.

Has anybody encountered this? Any fixes?

What the movies are really doesn’t matter, it’s what the files are (codec/container) that does. You need to post the media info for the files and make sure to mention what audio track and sub track (if applicable) you were trying to play back.

So both movies are MKV files from the original Blu-ray. They are both using True HD audio. These files both play on the downgraded version of Plex Media Server as mentioned.

There’s a problem with VC1 on recent versions of Plex. You can either stay on the older version or install the most recent Plex Pass preview build: Plex Media Server - #651 by gbooker02
