"Open Plex" from system tray on media server results in 404 error

I recently updated plex media server.

Now, from the system tray, when I double click on the plex icon and select ‘open plex’ google chrome opens with an error 404 trying to reach: 127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html

it used to launch the plex web app.

I can get to plex by navigating to plex.tx and selecting ‘launch’ but I’ve noticed new movies aren’t downloading cover art and other info. what happened?
