"Open Plex" opens default tab on Firefox

Hello.

I have a minor but quite annoying problem. I’m using Firefox as default browser on Windows 7 and was introduced to Plex a couple of years ago. The way I use Plex is that I start it when I need it, then double click the icon on the taskbar or right click it and select “Open Plex”. If the browser wasn’t already opened, it would do so with the Plex UI. Some months back, I noticed that after opening Plex, the browser opened its default home page and only opening Plex a second time would finally produce the Plex UI. In short, I would have to go twice through a process that previously was needed only once.
Windows 7, Firefox and Plex are fully up-to-date. I searched for quite some time for a similar problem but have had no chance, so hopefully someone here can provide a solution that doesn’t imply reinstalls  .

Also sorry if this should be posted elsewhere, but it seemed to me the closest-related forum/categories/whatever.

Set yourself a browser bookmark to https://app.plex.tv
You can place it onto the desktop or in the quick launch bar or wherever is convenient for you.

Please stop using Windows 7. You can consider it compromised by now.

Thank you for the idea, but I found out what was the problem. I’m using a plug-in for Firefox called Speed Dial and there was an option checked (not by me, most likely an update did it) that allowed it to control any new tabs opened. So simple, yet I never suspected it all this time…

Probably sound advice, but I’ll avoid Win 10 for as long as possible  .

It is no longer possible.
With MS ceasing official support, it is merely a question when your Plex machine will become a hub for cybercrime.
Not “if”, just “when”.
