When I click on the Plex app in the menu bar, instead of opening Firefox, Plex opens Safari.

I do not want Plex to open Safari, I want it to open Firefox. Safari is garbage and I don’t want to use it ever.

I have gone into settings, into Desktop & Dock, and changed the Default Web Browser to Firefox. All other apps seem to open Firefox, and yet Plex does not obey.

How can we fix this?

I appreciate any and all help. I’ve been struggling to get the double NAT thing fixed and I just can’t seem to get it. Getting this sorted is some sort of progress.

  1. In the Apple menu, click System Settings.
  2. Click Desktop & Dock in the sidebar.

On the right hand side, what is listed as the DEFAULT WEB BROWSER?

They already mentioned they changed that setting.

I’ve not see this happen before though I would try just restarting the server app or your computer.

I’m well aware of what was mentioned, but sometimes if you go back, the change didn’t stick, or was changed via another method.

Also, if the fact that it actually remained the same, that leads to another avenue of troubleshooting.

Point is… asking again for confirmation is a valid troubleshooting question.

Add this to your Firefox Browser.

I don’t use the Plex Chevron in the Menu Bar for opening or use the Dock option.

If that does not float your Boat, Empty Safari Cache, FireFox Cache, restart your M4 iMac
