OpenPHT and WMC

Ok i just learned about OpenPHT and that PHT is no longer being updated.

I have been running PHT in WMC for a few years and have a few question about changing to OpenPHT.

  1. I assume i have to uninstall PHT before installing OpenPHT, it will not upgrade PHT?
  2. Will OpenPHT add a link to the WMC menu like PHT did?
  3. I had my remote setup to control WMC and got PHT to work with the same remote. Will OpenPHT still work that way or will i need to reprogram my remote different from WMC commands.

I may have to try this stuff in a VM just to test it out.

  3. should work the same. if you customized one, you may need to customize the other. as far as I know, the code is the same, except OPHT has had some fixed applied.

    They have different install directories since the name changed. So you can have both installed without conflict.

    The PHT code was merged with the Rasplex project, which was a specialized fork of the PHT originally anyway. This part of the code was not changed. If you used a remote.xml or keyboard.xml to customize your remote, you’ll need to copy those custom files to the appropriate directories in the OpenPHT installation directory.

Thanks guys. I now must try getting Plex working again.
I had upgraded to the new plex server 1.1.4 but than downgraded to the older version i was running 9.16.6.
Ever since then Plex server crashes when when i press the stop button, while playing a stream in a channel all most every time.
I think the newer version added somethings or changed a few file settings and no mater what i do plex server crashes and leaves all the scripts running. No crash file is made, nor server error other then,

I see some folder under the Ples Media Server directory i don’t remember like Codecs and crash reports, both were made on 9-14 that is when i installed a plex upgrade.
I need to reinstall clean, but try and keep my settings and watched databases, So i am look for that kind of info, so far all i seem to find is just general clean install info and not custom.
