OpenPHT disable videos in Chrome

Hi everybody,
I use OpenPHT on my pc and when I open a video on the app it blocks the ability to play videos/audios on Chrome.
I have two screens and sometimes I pause a video in OpenPHT to watch others content on the internet: maybe a youtube video as an explanation on a topic that I do not understand or a video a friend send me on Facebook or an audio message on WhatsappWeb.
Chrome does not allow me to play anything when OpenPHT it’s open and on pause. I need to close the app and refresh the page on Chrome.
Does anybody has the same problem or a solution?

Thank you very much, Diego

what is your OS and version of Openpht?

Thank you daniel.cull for answering.
Windows 10 pro x64
v1.6.2.123-e23a7eef

update to the latest build 1.7.1 to start

what is your video card? does this have the latest drivers from the manufacturer installed or just the windows 10 ones?

FYI i have a similar setup, however i have 4 screens across 2 display cards, and i dont have that issue,

updated to the lastest version 1.7.1, no changes
Video card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 with the latest drivers (376.19) but the problem it’s months old, so also with the old drivers it was the same
I also reinstalled chrome from scratch some days ago to test if the problem was with that.
Same problem with Microsoft Edge but with some differences:

  • edge + OpenPHT playing: youtube gives me directly an error
  • edge + OpenPHT in pause: I can see the video without audio
  • chrome + OpenPHT playing or pause no difference: the videos does not play but I can see the video frame if I choose another point of the video

any difference if you change the video renderer to software, in openpht? (also could try turning off DXVA2)

Dear daniel.cull,
i changed to software rendering to software, disabled DXVA2.

Also tried with (sorry for the incorrect names, I’m trying to translate):

  • frequency update of the display: off
  • sync audio to image: off
  • ffmpeg avio: off
  • vertical blanc sync: off
  • dirty regions algorithm: 0
(just to try something else differently)

The problem is the same.
I also find out that I need to restart Telegram in order to listen to messages after OpenPHT has been opened at any time.

I found the solution to the problem.
In my advanced audio settings there was an option to let applications to take exclusive control of the audio device (I don’t know exactly how it’s called as I do not have an english Os language).
I think OpenPHT took this control disabling everything else…
Now that this option it’s disabled I can use OpenPHT and every other source of audio at the same time.
