Would be great if we could have Optimizations run as scheduled task so that they can run in hours when the server isn’t being used.
Example: I have a Smart Playlist that automatically optimizes anything added to it for mobile. Mostly for my kids’ Tablets.
Would be great if I could schedule any optimization for that to run from say 1-7AM without having to manually pause and resume.
From what I see there is already an open ticket. evidently no one cares, but this could be a nice feature! I had opened a ticket a little while ago and they closed it because this one was already open. But this has fallen into oblivion unfortunately!
@tom80H this post has been open for more than 2 years and is probably at the bottom of the list, in fact I didn’t realize that a ticket was already open. In any case, don’t you think that paying people (like in my case, plex pass) should have a little more “voice” than a simple vote? So if no one “votes” this thing will not be taken into consideration…Good!
If you ask me as a non Plex Employee / Team member… I suppose it’s their product and their roadmap, making it their decision what to prioritize. There’s no obligation for them to do what users ask for… the suggestions are therefore just that: suggestions — and votes are an indicator of there’s a wider interest in that suggestion.
But then again… that’s just my personal 2ct and I definitely would hope the could pick up some of my own suggestions or ones I’ve voted for. That doesn’t entitle me to them obliging.
Continuing this discussion is probably something for another thread, not to de-rail this suggestion.
