It takes my receiver/projector combo 6+ seconds to switch resolutions or refresh rates. I always have to rewind at the beginning. It would be great if it didn’t start playback until the change was complete, or just had the option that allowed me to put in the time to wait if that is easier

This only applies to the real Plex Media Player.
(the plex apps on Apple TV and Android are not Plex Media Player)
Close PMP
open the plexmediaplayer.conf in a text editor
change the line "refreshrate.delay": 3,
to "refreshrate.delay": 6,
save
Start PMP. Test.
