Option to Edit Multiple Tracks Disappeared

Server Version#: 1.43.1.10611
Player Version#: 4.159.0

I like to edit box sets to separate out multiple shows into their own “album” and have been doing this with no issue for quite some time. I update the metadata using mp3tag to change the album name for the relevant tracks to reflect that specific show then I go into plex web and select those tracks and batch edit the album name and poster because plex does not like to reflect my metadata changes for whatever reason (maybe a whole other issue).

To the issue at hand: today after editing one box set in this way I went to edit another and the only options that show up when I select multiple tracks are “General” and “Tags”. Missing completely are “Labels”, “Poster”, “Background”, and “Info”. Screenshot shows what I see when selecting:

Very confused because I did not change any setting between successfully editing one box set in this way and moving on to this set. For reference I am clicking the edit icon which appears at the top of the page when selecting multiple tracks or discs on the same album:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Since there cannot be individual album art and background art for an individual audio track, you cannot set these when editing tracks. You would have to edit the album itself.

If you are separating out content from larger albums into their own, separate albums, I urge you to edit the embedded metatags of your files outside of Plex. Do also adapt the folder structure of how these files are stored. According to these rules: One album being incorrectly identified as Various Artists instead of Alabama - #2 by OttoKerner
Do this before adding these files into the Plex library.
