Option to read the collection directly from a movie/series

Hi,
Currently when a film or series belongs to a collection, we see the other elements of the collection in the descriptive sheet, but it is impossible to read all the videos in a row (implicit list).
If we want to read the collection we have to go to the collection section and find the collection to be able to read it.
My request is therefore to put an option to either access the collection sheet directly in each film/series, or to put a button to read the collection in each film/series

From this screen it’s impossible to play collection

but if we could access the collection (like on the screen below) directly it would be possible

There’s an existing suggestion discussing for Plex to add an option to navigate to the collection by clicking on the collection hub (Movies in XYZ collection) from a movie/show’s details page (instead of only showing a filtered list of the items of that collection in the library view).

My request was mainly to have an option to easily read all the elements of a collection in a row on Android TV, because currently searching for a collection via the search tool does not open the collection unlike the web or mobile version.
Movies/series also do not allow reading the collection from their sheet, the only way on Android TV to read a collection is to go through the collection section of each library

I’ve just got to check this out on an Android TV device.
I’m not sure I get your point, though.

Accessing a collection from search seems to work fine for me, e.g. searching for the term Inside Out shows both individual movies and the collection as search results. Clicking on the collection result will open said collection.

As pointed out above, it’s a known issue / design choice that you cannot currently navigate to the collection from a movie or show‘s details page (see related suggestion linked above).

I have a feeling I might be missing something though.

If you’re referring to the option to filter a library for items belonging to a collection, that won’t show the collection. The filter is only a means to restrict the visible library by certain criteria. To see/use the actual collection, you will have to switch to the collections tab.

I still have a little trouble understanding why they made 2 ways to open a collection, one with only the filter elements without options, and one really opening a collection with all the options like the summary and the reading. It is neither ergonomic nor practical, only reason, the work of laziness ^^

I think the point is that they didn’t.
This is two different use cases.

You can open/edit collections from the overall library (unfiltered, sorted by title; if library has been configured to display collections inline) and the collections tab.
This one also applies if you use the platform search.

Filtering a library is about restricting the library view to show a subset of items meeting specific criteria. It’s not intended as a means to open alternative organizational aspects of a library (such as collections) — though a collection could be a criteria to be used to filter those items.
