Organization of Recently Added in Shows

I recall some time back that after shows were watched that they would consolidate into their seasons in the recently added hub.

For example,

You have two weekly shows…

  • ShowA, season 1
  • ShowB, season 3

Before watching the latest episodes the hub would list…

  • ShowA, S01E05
  • ShowB, S03E06
  • ShowA, S01E04
  • ShowB, S03E05,
  • ShowA, S01 (group of previous episodes)
  • ShowB, S03 (group of previous episodes)

After watching all the latest shows it would then eventually consolidate to…

  • ShowA, S01
  • ShowB, S03

…and not show the individual episiodes.

However, this no longer happens and it is kind of messy looking.

I do know if I do the plex dance (i.e. remove the season folders, scan, put them back, scan again) then everything is consolidated as expected and only shows the season(s). Unfortunately, this will also mess with other family members as the shows would all show up as unwatched for them.

This has been happening for a bit over many Plex Server versions but I decided to see if there is something I might be doing incorrect, missing a setting somewhere, or this is expected and maybe I am mis-remembering :wink:

I don’t think it’s been like this.
The recently added hub is grouping episodes that have been added in a certain period. IIRC that’s a 20-hour window.

  • if you’ve added a single episode, recently added will display that single episode
  • if you’ve added multiple episodes of a single season, recently added will display that single season
  • if you’ve added multiple episodes from more than one season, recently added will display the show itself

There’s no changes based on an episode watch state.

It might be I am recalling that I added multiple episodes and it was in the continue watching where it was loading up the individual episode (and then would disappear after watching) while the season was already bundled up in the added recently.
