Server Version#: 2012 R2 Plex Version 4.59.2
Player Version#:
Hi there
I am looking for an Solution to get an overview of all wrong oder not matched Movies and Series. I havevery much movies and series and i would find out wich ones i must optimize for plex. So i wouldn´t handle every movie/series with the “fix matched” button. I would rename the file or folder direct at the server file structure. And with a list of all mismatched it would be a little bit faster
How is the Plex server supposed to know that it mismatched a set of files?
If it knew about it, it wouldn’t have matched them incorrectly in the first place.
The best solution is to ensure you don’t have mismatches in the first place.
To do that add the matching tag from either imdb, tmdb or tvdb to each and every shows/movie. Will take a time but plex will then never mismatch anything.
Hi Otto. Yes you are right… I use Kodi too and there is a Log file, that List all the Movies / Series, that could not be found and wouldn´t added to the library.
Maybe Plex could tell the same thing or marks the files that he couldn´t find anywhere…
i would be happy if it says for example: Filme1/Chucky und seine Braut (1998)/Chucky und seine Braut.avi could not be found at themoviedb.com …
So i can go to Filme1 and rename the folder or file…
Otherwise it could be that i never watch this movie, because it isn´t show in the library
Hi dokuro… Thank you. How should i insert this tag? in the folder or file or both. Could you please give me an example? And where can i found this tag at themoviedb.com?
As an example using a movie which has the same name but two releases you would name the folders as the following …
True Grit (1969) {tmdb-17529}
True Grit (2010) {tmdb-44264}
The id is got from the URL on TMDB. So https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/17529-true-grit and https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/44264-true-grit in this example.
Same naming is used for TV Shows …
The Office (2001) {tmdb-2996}
The Office (2005) {tmdb-2316}
Takes a little time to setup but once done correctly you never need to worry matching as plex will get it right 100% of the time.
Hi dokuro.
Thanks a lot too!
This looks very good and i will try it.
Could you please shwo me where i can see the Movie ID at themoviedbcom and the ID of Series at thetvdb.com too? I use themoviedb.com for movies and thetvdb.com for series.
