Missing movies

Plex cannot find “Mud (2013)” and “Project X (2012)”, with those exact folder names, yet Jellyfin and Kodi can - all 3 using TMDB for metadata.

I have a movie library with 4193 folders. Plex can only discover 4191 movies from said library because it’s missing the aforementioned titles. How can I force Plex to include these?

Use ‘Fix Match’/‘Match’. Make sure to exclude the (year) from the search string.

How do I use ‘Fix Match’/‘Match’. on movies that are not added to the collection at all? They’re not wrongly matched to a different movie. Plex straight up just ignores them and they are not put into the library as “unmatched” movies. They’re just not there at all.

Engage the ‘Duplicates’ filter. Then look in the Plex media info at the file names.
Those movies might have been mismatched and added as duplicates to existing movies.
This is often caused by embedded metadata or a wrong IMDb ID in .nfo files.

Sometimes also by wrong file and/or foldernames. Subsequent renaming to won’t help much without the Plex Dance

0 movies found when duplicate filter is used.

Further things to try: How to find the discrepancy between number of files on disk and the number of movies in the Plex movie library

I already tried webtools which says everything is perfect - which is a great help :expressionless:

Files/foldernames does not contain anything that could/should cause Plex to act up.

Filebot suggest literally the name they already have, so yeah…

The Plex Dance™ put “Mud” into my library but not “Project X”. Until I did yet another Plex Dance™ and then “Project X” finally joined the library.
