Overwrite Correct TV Episode Names?

Hello!

I have a bunch of Jeopardy on my Plex server, organized properly and accurately tagged by TVDB. However, TVDB’s titles for each episode are the contestants, starting with the champion, which means that looking at a list of episodes in Plex spoils all the winners!

I’m trying to overwrite the file names by appending a new title to each episode in the Finder, but these changes are not appearing in my Library. How can I overwrite TVDB files at the system level to avoid spoilers?

You can not “overwrite” the title using the filename. You can however use embedded metadata to overwrite the title.
On Windows, you can right-click the file, select properties, goto details tab, then type in what you want for the title field.

It will only work with MP4/M4V files and you have to have LMA enabled.

You will have to refresh metadata after you add the MP4 title information.

Is there any way to do this with MKV files? I use MKV because it lets me embed captions/subtitles that I need as I’m hard of hearing, but I’m trying to rip firefly and I HATE having the episodes in the evil and incorrect Fox network order. If I could figure out how to change the metadata on the file, that seems it would fix the issue.
TIA!

You could use DVD order to fix the problem.
