Paid monthly sub for plex pass but it's not activated

I couldn’t find the right category and tagline to use for this post. I already hate the customer service experience…

My issue: Remote viewing stopped working on certain devices:

My brother shares content and upgraded to the highest subscription Plex Pass to ensure my access… but two of my most recent devices now view his server as “offline” since your April changes. I upgraded my account to the “Remote Watch Pass” at 2.99/month plan and I still cannot remote-view from those devices (samsung android phone and tablet). Why has my subscription not activated on all my devices?

If your brother has a Plex Pass, then you do not need a Plex Pass or Remote Watch Pass to stream from his server.

Have your brother reboot his Plex Media Server. This will force it to check-in with systems at plex.tv and verify he has a Plex Pass.

He should then check Settings → Remote Access. It should say “Fully Accessible Outside Your Network.” If it does not, then remote access is not working.

Once that is complete, on your devices, sign out, then sign back in to your Plex account. You should then be able to see libraries on his server, stream media, etc.

FYI, your brother can verify his Plex Pass is active by checking his account settings: https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/account. Subscriptions are listed immediately below the email address.

I agree… I shouldn’t need the Remote View Pass, I only got it because two out of four devices see his server as offline. The issue should not be at his end because two of my devices (I have 4 in total) can access his shared libraries without any issues and Plex identifies him in the friends list as a Plex Pass holder.
