Pan and Scan feature request

Please add Pan and Scan capabilities to Plex for Wndows app.
So users could adjust it on a fly similar to MPC HC PnS Num 1-9 hotkeys behavior . There I could hit Num 9 couple of times and the video is full screen. And then Num 5 if I want to reset it to default size.
Some video files have black bars embedded on top and the bottom (don’t confuse with the usual left/right black bars) and I hate not to watch it fullscreen.

The lack of this feature is keeping me from switching exclusively to Plex on my windows machine. Please add this feature.

Server Version#: 1.8.0.1159-67c4a549
Player Version#: 1.19.1.2645

there’s already a feature suggestion in the respective subforum…

That particular request is about stretching the video.
Scan feature I’m describing is a bit different.
It’s basically exponentially increasing the scale of the video uniformly until it reaches the screen borders.

True for the OP in this thread… it’s being discussed in the conversation however.
If you don’t see it as a match we can still move this thread into the feature suggestion section…

Edit:
/ignore… you already created a copy. you could have changed the category of your original post to achieve the same

gonna do exactly that now. thanks

I can Plex Media Player had similar feature via the config file

panscan=1 Zooms in on the image. Values between 0.0-1.0 are valid.

Would be nice to have this implemented into Plex for Windows and assign Num hotkeys to it.

Also I forgot to mention I have a ultrawide screen.
And here are screenshots showing how thoses up/bottom black bars video files looks like fullscreen in plex and how it looks like in MPC HC with pan and scan option:

Here’s feedback about this very same issue from Linus in his new HDR monitors video:
