Hi guys,
My name is George, and I want to say PLEX IS AWESOME. I have been supporting, following and using Plex since the beginning, i think. I have been using Plex on all possible envirements and works like a charm (Linux, sinology, iOS, LG, Samsung, chrome cast, etc).
Recently I bought a Panasonic Viera TX-50AS600B (awesome tv for my needs).
My problem is when I go and Browse the DLNA I find myself in a situation where from all my movies and tv show only the mp4 are played correctly.
My setup is as flows:
Sinology Disk Station (i3, 8gb ram, 4 TB storage) where I store my files. I have two plex installations (one on sinology disk station and one on a centos7 VM). I also have Sinology Media Server up and running.
The thing is that when I play MKV files using sinology's DLNA service works wonderful when I try and play an MKV file using Plex's DLNA service it fails saying: "Cannot Read File". Also I noticed that when I browse and I go over a MKV file on Sinology's DLNA under the preview on info section it says "MKV" but on plex's side says "Video". Some MKV files are recognised correctly even under Plex's dlna implementetaion and they work and when i look for info it says corectly: "MKV" file instead of "video".
I understand that it needs a working profile but I find it hard to build. I have searched online for 1 month now. I have updated the TV's firmware and software.
My question is: Why can't I play movies on Plex's DLNA implementation when sinology's implementation works. What can we do to make it work?
I will attach some pictures with proof :) for a better understanding, Plex DLNA logs and Panasonic Profile.
Thank you in advance for any opinion. Please excuse my english.
