Panasonic Firmware Update 3.210 Breaks Plex

Server Version#:1.18.5.2309

I’ve just updated to Panasonic firmware version 3.210 my on new TV. Its the first firmware update I’ve had since buying the tv.
The update completed successfully but its totally broken Plex.

  1. Launching Plex usually results in a completely white screen, which eventually shows an egg timer.
  2. Repeated launch attempts may show the Plex launch screen - hit and miss.
  3. I have had a couple of times where Plex says something went wrong and it need to create a new code to link to my account…the code is always empty and refreshing it doesn’t help.

This appears to be a broken app on the TV.

I’ve already deleted it, restarted the TV and re-installed from the app market, but it didn’t change any of the behavior.

Please help, I’d like Plex back again as its the main way I watch everything.

Sorry to hear about that! Unfortunately, the Plex app for Panasonic has long since been unsupported. If Panasonic broke the old app, there is no way to make it work again.
You can only connect a device with a working and supported Plex client on it. e.g. Apple TV, Fire TV, nVidia Shield, Roku…

Hi Otto, thanks for the reply.
Like others I’ve now found those threads and looked at the supported TV’s article. While I can see the logic for the developers, it’s a shame that one of the marketing slogans for Plex is to simplify and cut the cord. - Ironically I’m now having to put in more cords, go through extra steps and use another remote to watch Plex on a premium TV manufactured by a global supplier.
