Partial transfer of database possible?

I would like to move my music from one NAS to another. Is it possible to transfer just the metadata/library from one Plex server to another? I already have both servers running for a while and I don’t want to clutter up server A’s library with server B, if all I need is the info pertaining to my music.

I hope it’s possible. The thing I really don’t want to have to set up again is all the ratings for my music and the playlists.

There’s no means to do that using Plex.
I suppose your best shot will be to migrate the complete server data directory and then manually delete the libraries you no longer want on that secondary server.

To add to Tom,

You can’t, expressly, export/transfer a specific type or library section.

What you can do is:

  1. Provided all the media is in the same folder names (and locations) on both machines – (at least for the part(s) you’re interested in)

  2. You can clone the metadata and database but keep the 2nd server’s identity .

It takes a little work to preserve the original identity and then prune thereafter but it can be done.
