I have set up the web media manager interface on plex media server so i can access it from anywhere using an easy to remember web address. Is it possible to have the access to this made password protected?

Go to the myPlex settings, and show advanced settings, then you can activate "Require authentication on local networks", which will require everyone to authenticate using their myPlex login when accessing the server, instead of by default anyone coming from your local network is allowed anonymous access.
