For the last 1-2 years I’ve been having intermittent issues with Plex on AppleTV. It is slow to launch videos, can be 20-30 seconds before a video starts playing. Then intermittently it will pause during playback sometimes with a message that there is isufficient bandwidth to play back. Sometimes it will pause then replay the previous couple of seconds and continue for a little while. Sometimes it will just stop and go back to the launch screen. I don’t have any issues accessing the same content from the web player on the iMac the server is running on.
Most of the stuff I watch is SD or 720p maximum, I never have any issues with Disney+, Netflix or Prime on the same AppleTV. It’s the same on 2 different AppleTVs, 1 both are AppleTV HD (A1625) models.
My setup is that I have all my videos on a Synology DS916+, connected with ethernet to a Gb switch. My Plex Server is running on an iMac 5K 27" Late 2015 MacOS 12.3 that also has ethernet to the same Gb switch.
