Hi all
I’m currently using the HDHR Connect for my Plex DVR duties but ever since I bought it (about a year ago) it’s been flakey. I’ve been in constant contact with SD, tried various workaround etc. Anyway, I’ve had enough!!
I was wondering if anyone had any experience of using the TV Butler USB stick, particularly with Plex.
Grateful to hear your views on this.
Also, please feel free to post any alternative tuners (I don’t think there are many for OSX).
Thanks
I use the TVButler usb stick on OSX - it just seems to work for me, although looking through the forums it seems that other people have had problems (not finding channels on scan). Mine did that at first but it came to life and has been fine since.
To the point, where currently Plex is telling me it can’t find the device - yet its recording shows and downloading the EPG just fine though!
Recordings seem to be ok, I’ve had Plex crash a couple of times whilst recording, but I think thats a Plex issue rather than a TVButler one.
Given the price, I’d buy another one if I was to set up the system again. YMMV.
Thanks for that. I’ll probably give it a go, and return it if it doesn’t work properly.
I read the sticky on the TV Butler and it seems OSX is not too affected but they have a fix on the way, sounds promising!
I know I can’t use the HDHR Connect anymore, at the minute, I can’t play anything. I’ve tried reboots, rescans. Aerial works fine in my TV so it’s gotta be the device.
Cheers
