I'm trying to write a script that will update both PMS and PHT automatically for me. I've had an issue with this for a long time because of my launchd scripts which keep Plex running. So, when PMS tries to update itself, launchd kicks the process back up, and it never completes the update. The solution to this has been manually unloading the launchd property lists, and upgrading everything myself. Pretty annoying. I love having launchd supervise everything for me, because I don't have to worry about anything crashing. It's the same way I keep several of my services up.
So, here's the actual problem. If I want to update everything via a script, I need a persistent url to fetch the latest version. An example would be that http://wordpress.org/latest.zip always points to the latest version of wordpress. Does Plex.tv have a link for the latest download? If not, can we get one? I'm sure you could find more than one use for it.
