Hi everyone, I’m trying list things in the right order, but none of the pre-sets work how i want it to, I’ve found that if I add media as Private media, I can the things in the order I want, but it will only display a thumbnail as a poster.
House of the Dragon is a TV show. You can get it perfectly fine with all the rigth posters and descriptions, if you place it into a library of the type “TV Shows”.

There is no need to use a “Other Videos” library instead. Which still cannot handle tv shows, anyway.
Hi. I’ve tried all that, and it doesn’t display them in the order I want and without putting them in series, e.g. Take Marvel, there’s tv and movies, I’d like them both in the same folder, and also not put in series or release order, I’d like them mixed and put in the best order to watch them in, the only way I’ve found to do this is to use the Other Video option, and this works well, but I don’t have any options of what to use as a display icon for the item, of what format it uses. I’d like to use the original artwork for each item, and not the random screen frame it currently uses… I’ve imported the correct file to use, but it insists on using the landscape format, so only shows the middle section of the portrait cover, and it doesn’t give me any options to correct it that I can see?
Other Videos are intended for home videos. Which usually don’t have any posters but only screenshots. Therefore this library type shows landscape thumbnails instead of portrait-oriented posters.
ok thank you, using other videos is the only way i can list them in the order i’d like them in, I might have to have a look around for something that meets my requirements
Plex contains most of the requirements you’re looking for
You can put HOTD in a regular tv show library. There’s only one order for that show for both TVDB and TMDB
It will import all the posters and metadata automatically and display them the way you’re asking for with a lot of different posters you can chose from

You can create collections across libraries that contain both TV shows and Movies. Just create a Marvel Collection in each library and they will be linked if you use the same tag i.e. “Marvel Cinematic Universe”
Inside of these collections, in the advanced settings you can choose a “custom” order and drag and drop them in any order you like
