Philips Android TV playing AC-3 in stereo on Sonos Playbar (surround)

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2058
Player Version#: 7.25.1.14216

I don’t know what to search for, so I’m sorry for asking a potentially already answered question.

I have a Philips Android TV and a Sonos Playbar set up with a sub and two rear speakers.
The Playbar only support Dolby Digital 5.1, so the TV optical output has to be set to “Multichannel” to enable it to transcode content into DD5.1.
When I disable passthrough in Plex, all content is direct played, but AC-3 is only played in stereo. DTS and other formats are correctly transcoded into Dolby Digital 5.1 by the TV, just not AC-3.
If I enable passthrough for AC-3, the audio track correctly plays in full surround.
Unfortunately I cannot have the server perform transcoding of DTS and other formats since it simply doesn’t have the horsepower.

Is there a way I can enable passthrough of AC-3 only and disable it for DTS? That seems to be the way I need to configure it, but it’s really tedious to do manually when switching content to a different audio format.

As I wrote, when passthough is disabled, Plex is direct playing everything, so it seems to be a problem in the client somehow. It might also be the TV not properly handling AC-3, but that just seems a bit weird since it wouldn’t have to do process anything at all.
