like te idea to have the Philipps Hue light “synchronized” with the movie on the TV - Ambilight like feature will great ! + 1

One of the tv’s we have is a Phillips ambilight, and philips make an app called Ambilight + Hue, that as long as you have one of the tv’s that support it you can link the amblight of the tv to the bulbs.

We have done this and use two hue bloom lamps (any more is just overkill, trust me we have 3 blooms, 3 strips, and 20+ hue bulbs, ive played a lot), which each sit on top of the front side speakers, and point about 45deg toward the walls behind / towards the tv but at enough distance they just clip the edge of the amblight on the wall.

What we noticed, the lag between the tv and hue hub then to the bulbs, means that you had to set the dynamic timing way down, else the hue lights fell way behind from the ambilights on the tv.

https://gfycat.com/DentalOfficialBlowfish is a short video from me testing it. Remember its very hard to film light!

I found this a few days ago screenbloom.com/ works really well for me.

Philips has a hue entertainment api - they just released a desktop app that allows you to sync your lights to the image on your desktop - works great! Would def love to have this for Plex

I used the Hue Sync app and plugged the server straight into the TV to watch it directly via windows, running with a couple of Hue Iris’ and a Hue Go - the effect was really good. If this could be extended to Plex it would be awesome (HelloHue is nice, but nothing like this)

It really is an awesome experience.
MrMC or infuse connected to Plex but also both apps support the Phillips Hue.
Lights changing according to screen movement is fantastic.
Hope it comes natively for you guys one day.

+1. There are still some features that keep me on Kodi.

+1 Would like to see this feature. I’m not in 3rd party configuration.

Have you guys tried Hue Sync for Windows/Mac?

It allows you to set it up to sync lights based on music, video, games, or scenes.
I use it and its pretty good.
Just set what display it should monitor, choose the entertainment area, and you’re golden.

Just voted, that would be a killer feature in my opinion since Plex runs on so many platforms.
