Hi everyone,
I’m a relatively new Plex Pass user. While I’ve been experimenting with Plex for a while, I recently decided to centralize everything, including photos, on Plex. Although the video library functionality has really impressed me, the photo library capabilities have been quite disappointing.
I’m specifically referring to the web interface (player), not the dedicated test Android app.
Some basic functionalities that I expected to be available in Plex are missing, including:
- Ability to select a photo from the library to be the “poster” for a higher-level directory (album),
- Option to rotate images or video files that are displayed in the wrong orientation,
- Thumbnails are generated inconsistently (some files didn’t get any thumbnails),
- Geo-location map view for organizing or displaying photos based on where they were taken.
My final question is: Is there a roadmap for the photo library? How old or mature is the photo library in Plex? To me, it seems like it’s still in its early stages of maturity (once again I’m not refering to Android app rather library in general).
