I’m aware that the photo library is basically at the bottom of the priority list for Plex, but it’s a pity that these two issues remain unsolved—especially since they’re fundamental features that, in my opinion, discourage wider adoption.

First, the fact that you can’t open an album and directly select which image should become the poster is incredibly frustrating. You have to download and then re-upload the image just to get it to work, which is very strange.

Second, the inability to rotate an image within the Plex library is a big drawback. One image might be obviously misoriented, but there’s no option to correct it in Plex itself, which again seems absurd.
If these two issues were addressed, I’m certain the photo library would gain more traction while for me it sounds like quite low complexity. Pity this wasn’t address for so long.
