I am going through setting up a plex server for my photos. I set my folders to upload pictures and walked away for a few minutes assuming it would be a while. To my horror, I came back to see 47 pages on the status were pictures deleted, or about 1,000! When I check the actual folder, they were deleted there as well! Please tell me I’ll be able to get back 2 years of photos of my kids.
The only time Plex will delete files off your computer is if you select the delete option (if you have this enabled) or when it removes old DVR recordings (also according to the settings).
When you see the “Deleted item_name” on the alerts screen it is just indicating that the file was deleted from Plex’s internal database.
Please double check the status of your actual file system and if you still believe something is amiss please post your logs so I can investigate (Settings -> Server -> Help -> Download Logs).
