Photos Albums vs Playlists

Is is just me or is the whole photo organization confusing. You click on add to album but it brings up playlist. If I use the camera upload feature from the iPhone app it creates an album called iPhone (p:\photos\iphone). However, when you select individual photos to move to an album, it come up as playlist, but doesn’t even give you the option of selecting a playlist you had already created. It is only within the original iPhone album that you have to click on “create album” which actually brings up “playlist.” It will then allow you to see existing playlist, but that does no good for moving new individual photos into an already existing playlist. Typing this has confused me even more… Am I missing something?

A few years ago they renamed ‘Playlist’ to ‘Album,’ only in Photo libraries. They also removed photo playlists/albums from the Playlists page, which made no sense. Several, including me, complained about this. They put the photo playlists back on the Playlists page, but they didn’t revert the ‘Album’ name in the Photo Library. I had a feeling this would cause confusion eventually, but I was so happy to have them back on the Playlists page where they belong, I didn’t press the issue.

The bottom line is, photo ‘albums’ are the same thing as ‘playlists,’ just with a different name.
