I do have a large number of items in my main Photos library (85,000+), but I don’t understand why the library is constantly updating. The status page in PMS shows the folders it’s scanning are ones that haven’t had anything new added to them. I often have to manually cancel the scanning of the Photos library just to get it to move on to update other libraries where new media has been added (TV Shows, Movies, etc.).
I’ve tried increasing the interval between library scans, which didn’t help much. I’ve turned off the “Update My LIbrary Automatically” option which stopped it, but then none of the other libraries would show new media either, of course.
I just don’t know why it’s constantly re-scanning the same folders over and over. There’s nothing that should have changed in them to trigger a “change detected” scan. Any help or settings suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
This is exactly the same thing that is happening to me… it is VERY annoying as the other libraries do not update until the photos library finishes… but as soon as it finishes and cycles through the other libraries, it starts all over again with the photos.
Is there anyone who has an answer / fix for this. It truly is taking a fantastic system and making it a frustration instead.
May be some files are being updated within the library folders?
If you could capture logs for when it starts to rescan when not expected to, then can see why it is being triggered
