Photos Library - Multiple Problems

Hi All, as Google Photos will be ending their free unlimited online storage, I’ll be using the Plex Photos features in their place.

Plex Pass user
Server v1.20.4.3517
Plex Web v4.46.2
Camera upload enabled

All of my photos are uploaded to the general photos album/folder from my cell phone. Obviously there would be a mix of still photos and videos in the folder. All camera uploads go to the main general album. A plex library call Photos show the footage contents.

Problem 1: Where can I find a manual on all of the functions of Plex? I’m having trouble figuring out the photo functions. I have photos that are already in certain folders and some new photos recently uploaded from my cell and my wife’s cell. The ability to delete are all over the place and at times it’s not available depending on where you’re at. For example, when I open a photo and enable Show Photo Strip, as I browse from left to right, the hamburger dots don’t have the delete option. Instead I need click on the hamburger icon, Get info, Delete. When I’m browsing the Photos > Library section, Delete is available in the thumbnails. Plex is so confusing compared to the simplicity of Google Photos when it comes to Photos organization.

Problem 2: At times, when I select multiple items via the plex web, the Playlist is created but the selections are not added to it. These selections are photos and videos. 0 Items are listed under the playlist.

Problem 3: I can’t add a video to an existing Photos Playlist? None of the existing Playlists are available to select from.

Problem 4: Attempting to delete an album (had 1 photo in it) crashes the app on Ipad. Ipad OS 14.1. Plex app v7.9

I have more but those are the top issues.

From there you can go to the FAQ & Support Articles, return to this forum, or address billing issues.

2 and 3: These look like problems in the beta build of Plex Web (4.46.2). I can reproduce what you reported in 4.46.2, but it works correctly in the local build (4.43.4).

FYI, when you install Plex Server, it automatically installs a "local" build of Plex Web, which you use to initially set Plex up, and to use Plex when you are offline. It's usually a few builds behind the hosted app. You can access the local build via http://localhost:32400/web/index.html

4: I can’t help here. I don’t use this app.
